I've been teaching for a long time so you would think that I would catch on!  I look at my plan book and realize that there is less time than I expected remaining in the school year!  I have sooooo much enjoyed your children--wish I could teach them every year!  We will be working hard right up to the final bell trying to get in as much as possible, emphasizing those skills found on ACT.  I would love to hear the results of their scores--share with me on FB if you will. 

It is hard to believe but we are on the final stretch!  I am really enjoying your children-they are a delight to teach.  We are continuing in Chapter 8 and it will require some studying.  As always, I encourage you to check grades regularly and let's not let anyone get behind!

It's PI DAY!   The geometry class is looking  forward to celebrating with a variety of sweets!  I am glad I leave after first period.  Tomorrow is our 9-weeks test.  We have reviewed the material and they seemed confident.  The remainder of the week will be spent working on 8-4. 

  I really missed my freshman last week----I am glad they are all back safely and thawed out !!    We only have 3 weeks left in this quarter!  We will be working hard-there is a lot we need to cover but I have every confidence that this class can do it!  I encourage you to check grades regularly on ACHIEVE.

We will be working toward a test late this week on the first half of chapter 7  Most students are are doing well but we need to continue to encourage them to study and keep up.

January is disappearing quickly!  We are working in chapter 7 and I anticipate a vocab quiz on Friday.   If your student is having  difficulty, please encourage them to study nightly and NOT wait for test night to begin studying.  Also, there are lots of students in this class who could "tutor" those who are having a hard time.  Let's not let this get ahead of us--we want to maintain those good grades!

Well, the end of Christmas break brought us some serious winter temperatures!  I was so glad to see my students and hear their tales of Christmas.  I was also amazed and delighted when their review took little time to do--they remembered so much of what I thought would have been covered with holiday activity!  We are moving on in chapter 6.  I am aware that this is basketball season and, to the best of my ability, will adjust our work accordingly.  However, I rely on parents to keep students aware of the importance of keeping up--this has not been an issue so far and I really do not look for it to be a problem.  Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with me!

This semester is quickly coming to a close!  This week we will review chapter six sections 1 through 4 and test on this.  We will then begin reviewing for the semester exam.  The exam counts 20% of the semester grade and therefore is very important!  Also, exemptions will be determined after the ch 6 test.

This week we will continue to work on Chapter 6 and test next week.  I will be giving the students study materials for the semester exam.  ALSO  don't forget that each grade is filling a basket for the Holiday Market.  Ninth grade has the theme " Christmas".  The items are due TUESDAY!.  They were told about this the week before Fall break but sometimes High School students don't get information home!!!!!!!!!!  We appreciate your help!

We have a quiz on Monday and a holiday on Tuesday!!!!  During the rest of the week we will continue to work in chapter 5.  Please check grades on ACHIEVE and let me know if you have questions!

Back to normal--sort of!  We are working in Chapter 5 and I anticipate a vocab quiz on Wednesday and a quiz on Friday.    If there is a Veteran in your family, please take note of the Veterans Appreciation program on Friday and plan to attend.  School will dismiss at 1:30 Friday but that will not affect my class.  Go Patriots-Beat Bessemer!

Homecoming week!--

We will all be busy-Tuesday we will have a ch 4 test and the rest of the week we will work hard in class and avoid homework!  I am really enjoying these students--encourage them to keep up the good work!

This week we are completing Chapter 3.  The students are doing very well.  I can count on them to do their assignments and ask questions when needed.  We will be beginning Chapter 4 on Triangles.  Please encourage your student to be caught up at all times--they have done a great job with this so far.

Nine-weeks tests upon us!  Math will be on Wednesday and it will be a Chapter 6 test.  We will review Monday and Tuesday.  Construction notebooks are due this week.  Continue to check ACHIEVE regularly for grades and encourage students to study for the test.

With only 2 weeks left in this 9-weeks, it is important that students stay caught up and/or get caught up on work!  I have several who are behind!  Construction notebooks are due on March 21st!  This week I hope to finish Chapter 6 and have a test early next week.
